Cruse
Bereavement Care, the UK’s leading charity dealing with bereavement
support, aims to help over half of all of the country’s traumatic
bereavement victims after a £460,000 investment from Futurebuilders
England.
Cruse provides support to bereaved people, particularly those dealing
with a traumatic loss, through a nationwide network of branches,
trained volunteers and a national helpline. The charity has 139 local
services across the country with over 5,400 volunteers and last year
provided long-term care to over 22,000 people in England.
Currently Cruse assists 35% who have suffered bereavement as a
result of a road death; 35% as a result of homicide, and 40% of people
bereaved after a suicide, in addition to providing services for all
bereavements. After the Futurebuilders investment, the group hopes
these figures will rise above the 50% mark.
