Jack Straw opens new Futurebuilders-funded rehabilitation centre Back to news

Monday, 17 November 2008

The Right Honourable Jack Straw MP today opened new premises for THOMAS – a support group for people with dependency problems living in Blackburn – made possible with an investment from Futurebuilders England.

Operating in Mr Straw’s Blackburn constituency, THOMAS (Those on the Margins of A Society) works to reduce crime and improve the health and education of ex-offenders through a drug and alcohol rehabilitation programme, drop-in services and various supported housing units.

A Futurebuilders investment of £476,514 enabled THOMAS to purchase and refurbish new premises in the heart of Blackburn to create additional rehabilitation services for an extra 25 people at a time.
