    The Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (acevo)is the professional body for the third sector’s chief executives. Acevo’s mission is to connect, develop and represent the sector’s leaders, in order to increase the sector’s impact and efficiency. Acevo provides a number of resources and training courses, including a free downloadable Full Cost Recovery Toolkit and the Recession Support Website. It also runs  Full Cost Recovery training courses in partnership with NAVCA – helping third sector organisations to understand and apply the essential concept of full cost recovery.
  • Adventure Capital Fund
    The Adventure Capital Fund is a funder of community enterprise that offers packages that are a combination of financial investments and expert support. The Adventure Capital Fund is the manager of Futurebuilders.
  • Association of Charitable Foundations
    The ACF is the leading membership association for grant-making charities in the UK.
  • Capacitybuilders
    Led by experts from the community and voluntary sector with initial funding from the Home Office, Capacitybuilders works in partnership with government and other infrastructure bodies to help voluntary and community organisations work more effectively.
  • Charities Aid Foundation
    The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) puts donors in control of their giving, and helps charities make the most of what they get.
  • CDFA (Community Development Finance Organisation)
    The CDFA is the trade association for Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs). CDFIs are sustainable, independent financial institutions that provide capital and support to enable individuals or organisations to develop and create wealth in disadvantaged communities or under-served markets.
  • Charity Bank
    Charity Bank is both an independent registered charity that can accept deposits and an authorised bank whose purpose is to make affordable finance available to the charitable sector.
  • The Directory of Social Change
    The DSC aims to be an internationally recognised independent source of information, training and support for voluntary and community sectors worldwide.
  • Funderfinder
    A useful source of information on independent grant making trusts and foundations, and is widely available through intermediary and umbrella organisations. Go to the homepage and click on the ‘About Us’ button. Scroll down and click on the Annual Report button, then scroll down to the section labelled Access to GIN (Groups in Need). This will tell you where to find the nearest place to access Funderfinder. Most Councils for Voluntary Services will have an edition available 
  • Grants online
    The website of the Grant Making Trusts Directory. The main focus of this site, which provides links to UK grant making trusts, is on trusts that provide grants in the fields of education, regeneration, community development and related areas. 
  • GrantsNet
    Comprehensive information about grant support schemes for UK businesses and charities.
  • Government funding
    Provides information about, and links to, a wide range of government funding across the various departments.
  • Impetus Trust
    Impetus Trust is pioneering venture philanthropy (VP) in the UK. Impetus offers donors the means to make the biggest difference with their money by enabling charities to achieve a step change in their performance.
  • Innovation Exchange
    The Innovation Exchange is a website designed to foster innovation within the third sector and find ways of improving relationships between third sector social innovators, public service commissioners and investors.
  • The Institute of Fundraising
    Established in 1983, the Institute of Fundraising is the professional body for fundraising, working to develop, promote and champion excellence in fundraising.
  • Lottery funding
    Information about the funding programmes run by each of the Lottery distributors (including the Awards for All small grants programme) and will link you to their websites. 
  • NAVCA
    The National Association for Voluntary and Community Action is the national voice of local voluntary and community sector infrastructure in England. Has a list of local CVS's.
  • The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)
    NCVO is the umbrella body for the voluntary sector in England. It lobbies for and works to support the voluntary sector with government, the Charity Commission, the European Union and other bodies. It is also at the leading edge of research into, and analysis of, the voluntary sector.
  • New Philanthropy Capital
    New Philanthropy Capital (NPC) is a charity that advises donors and funders on how to give more effectively. NPC’s aim is to increase the quantity and quality of resources available to the charitable sector. 
  • The Pentagon Partnership
    The Pentagon Partnership is the strategic partnership for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in Tyne and Wear. It boosts the ability of the VCS to become involved in - and influence - the economic regeneration agenda.
  • Small Charities Coalition
    The Coalition exists to help small charities access the skills, experience and resources they need to achieve their aims. They do this by matching small charities to other organisations that have the resources they need.
  • Social Enterprise Coalition
    SEC is the UK's national body for social enterprise. The voice for the sector, it supports and represents the work of its members, influences national policy and promotes best practice.
  • Unity Trust Bank
    Unity Trust Bank is a socially responsible organisation providing banking and membership services to the trade union, charity, voluntary, credit union and membership organisation sectors.
  • Unltd
    To support people who have the ideas and commitment to make a really positive difference in their communities. They provide information about funding and support networks as well as other useful guidance. 
  • Venturesome
    Venturesome offers mezzanine finance – loans and investment support that fill the gap between grants and bank loans – to charities and other social enterprises.
