Matthew Pike - Chief Executive of the Scarman Trust and member of the Home Office Adventure Capital Fund
Matthew Pike is Chief Executive of the Scarman Trust, a national charity committed to helping citizens bring about change in their communities.
Educated at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities he helped to set up the Paul Hamlyn Foundation in 1989, where he was Assistant and Acting Director for four years. Matthew has also worked as a Fellow at the Institute of Community Studies and as a freelance journalist.
Matthew is the author of “Right to Expect” an Institute of Public Policy Research paper where he was the first to argue for the adoption of the individual development account in the UK. As a social entrepreneur in his own right, Matthew has helped to establish more than 20 large scale programmes or organisations.
He now lives in Warwickshire with his wife and his two sons.
