Futurebuilders must have an impact way beyond its 250 investments.
We want Futurebuilders to help achieve the following:-
Investment. We want to help develop an investment culture in the sector with less dependency on short-term grants and more emphasis on earning income.
Excellence. We want to change people's perception of the sector's role and work through demonstrating excellence in public service delivery.
Purchasers. We want to develop a more business-like relationship between the public sector as purchaser and the voluntary and community sector as provider.
Investor. We want to be an investor rather than an arms-length funder, sharing risk with our investees and working together to ensure success.
Learning. We want to learn from the experience of our investments and then share that learning with others to achieve wider impact.
Sustainability. If successful, we want to ensure the continuation of Futurebuilders on a wider scale, through loan repayments and interest, through leveraging additional funds and through convincing the Treasury and others that this is an effective way of investing in the sector.
We believe that, in total, this represents a new approach to funding the sector, which ultimately will bring improved public services to users and communities throughout England. |
