Interview with Breathing Space Director Dh Maitreyabandhu at The London Buddhist Centre

03.04.2008

In 2004, The London Buddhist Centre launched a new project called Breathing Space to provide mindfulness-based therapies (MBTs) to people who have been depressed, those recovering from addiction and sufferers of chronic pain or stress.

Due to the extremely positive response to the new project, the charity has decided to refurbish part of the centre to create a larger, dedicated space for the provision of the Breathing Space services. The whole cost of the expansion, which is currently in progress, amounts to £393,000. Futurebuilders England invested £285,659 in LBC to help fund the project.

Building work has now begun – so Claudia Godwin, New Media Officer for Futurebuilders England, went to meet Breathing Space Director Dh Maitreyabandhu on site to hear about how the project has evolved, see how the building work is progressing (audible in the background!) and discuss his future vision for its services.
