Launch of The Social Investment Business

The Social Investment Business was formally launched on 17 September at Westminister Central Hall with 1,000 delegates attending.

The Social Investment Business is the new trading name for Futurebuilders England Fund Management Limited which manages the Futurebuilders Fund, The Social Enterprise Investment Fund, The Communitybuilders Programme and the loan element of the Modernisation Fund.

Speaking at the event were Liz Liston‐Jones, Deputy Director for Social Enterprise and Finance for The Office of the Third Sector, Rt Hon Francis Maude MP, Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office and Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, M. Hugues Sibille, Director Generale, Credit Cooperatif (France) and Lester Salamon, Director of the Centre for Civil Society Studies at Johns Hopkins University (Maryland, USA).

There was also panel discussions with Sir David Varney, former PM’s Advisor on Public Service Transformation, Lord Victor Adebowale, Chief Executive of Turning Point, Rupert Evenett, Board Member of The Social Investment Business and Investment Committee member for The Futurebuilders Fund, Stephen Bubb, Chair of the Social Investment Business, Jonathan Lewis, CEO of the Social Investment Business, Liz Liston‐Jones, Rt Hon Francis Maude MP and Harriett Baldwin, Vice‐Chair of The Social Investment Business Board and Investment Committee Chair for The Futurebuilders Fund.
