News: Decoda become regional finalists in the NHS Health & Social Care Awards

Decoda is a social enterprise that uses sound and music technologies to help people with profound disabilities or behaviour that's considered challenging. Decoda recently reached the regional final of the NHS Health & Social Care Awards in the category of Innovative Technology for its interactive inflatable maze which was developed with the input of Music Gym members and investment from Futurebuilders.

News: TreeHouse launches new information and social networking website

TreeHouse is the national charity for autism education. 02 April 2009 was World Autism Awareness Day and to coincide with this, TreeHouse launched a brand new information and social networking website called talkaboutautism.org.uk, sponsored by TalkTalk. The site will provide expert advice and an online community to share experiences, ideas and support.

Event: Breathing Space new venue opening
Breathing Space is opening a new venue on Friday the 8th of May with the help of high-profile government adviser, economist and author on wellbeing and happiness, Lord Richard Layard. The new venue will enable Breathing Space to expand its service provison of teaching Mindfulness Based Approaches to prevent relapse into depression and addiction and to manage stress and anxiety.
News: Birtenshaw opens second home to care for children with disabilities
14 April 2009
Birtenshaw opened a second new Children’s Home in Darwen Road, Bromley Cross, Bolton in this month to provide full time care for three children with a significant physical disability. Birtenshaw anticipates opening a third children’s home in summer 2009.

News: Urgent Care expands service provision to respond within the hour
4 April 2009
Urgent Care Ltd is starting a new Rapid Response Service on May the 1st for residents of the London Borough of Havering. The project is a partnership with Havering Primary Care Trust and will respond within an hour to older people with urgent care needs who are referred by their GPs, Nursing and Residential Homes or Very Sheltered Housing Schemes.

News: Proud City joins Pathfinder Programme

Trevor Burchick MBE of Proud City gets his authored literature & learning resource iPAC (Individual Profile in Active Citizenship), as awarded by City and Guilds, into the new National Pathfinder Programme. The Pathfinder Programme works to empower citizens with knowledge, skills and confidence to increase engagement in civil, civic and democratic activity.

News: My Time CIC responds to Government's vision of supporting people out of the reccession

My Time CIC has established a partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust and other local therapeutic providers to create 4 new jobs with counsellors now working out of 15 GPs in Heart of Birmingham and from Monday 9th March to support people experiencing depression triggered by the recession.

Event: Disability Stockport open new building to expand the services they provide for disabled people
Disability Stockport celebrate the completion of its new premises with an opening on the 1st of May. This new building provides excellent facilities to continue providing advocacy, information and day services for disabled people in Stockport.
