Bhupendra held senior positions in the field of regeneration and community development with a number of local, regional and national agencies.

His Board membership includes; the Foundation for Civil Society and NACRO (National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders). Current Board member of the Carnegie (UK) Trust, Harvest Housing Group and BBC World Service Trust.
