Biography: Margaret Hyde
Margaret Hyde holds a number of appointments in the voluntary and public sectors including trustee of the New Economics Foundation and member of Venturesome’s Investment Committee. She is also a consultant to charities.
From 1994 to 2005 she was Director of the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, one of the UK’s most significant independent grantmakers. Before that she held a number of other senior positions including Deputy Secretary General of the Arts Council, Chief Executive of Action Resource Centre and Head of Information at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.
She has been a Council member of the Royal Society of Arts and Vice Chair of the Association of Charitable Foundations. She was educated at the London School of Economics, of which she is currently a Governor.
