Biography: Sarah Wood
Sarah Wood MSc, CIPFA, FCCA has held a number of senior posts in local government.
From 1986 to 1995 she worked in social services in Strathclyde Regional Council ultimately as Senior Deputy Director. This was followed by two years as Deputy Chief Executive with Glasgow City Council. In 1997 she joined Birmingham City Council as Director of Finance and became the Strategic Director of Resources in June 2001. In January 2004 she joined the Local Government Association as Director of Economic and Environmental Policy and became Director of Policy in June 2005.
In addition to her work she is a Commissioner of the Public Works Loan Board, Member of CIPA Council, Member of the Home Office Advisory Panel on Futurebuilders and a director of Social Care (Education) a charitable trust.
