Consultation: Creating a Partnership with the 3rd Sector

As part of the Comprehensive Spending Review 2007, the Government has embarked on a review of the future role of third sector in social and economic regeneration. Central to the review is a consultation process that offers local groups the opportunity to influence the sector's regional and national policy priorities over the long–term.

This consultation is the largest ever with the Third Sector and is made up of two distinct phases:

  • Phase 1: from May to September 2006, HM Treasury will be hosting nine regional events throughout the country.
  • Phase 2: from July to November 2006 will be the analytical phase whereby initial recommendations will be published in Pre–Budget Report and a full report for Budget 2007.

Phase 1 offers local groups an opportunity to influence local as well as national policy to inform a 10 year strategy. As part of the consultation process the government have announced a number of regional events that will take place throughout the country.
