Where to find public sector contracts

Futurebuilders invests in third sector organisations to help them win and deliver public sector contracts. We estimate that over during the financial year 2009-2010, around £22 billion in contracts will be available to third sector organisations to tender for. This is a great opportunity for the sector that cannot be missed.

But where do you actually find the contracts to bid for?

Department of Health

Contract opportunities with the Department for Health

A portal where all lower-value contracts (typically less than £100,000). It is aimed at small businesses, but applies to third sector organisations as well.

Tenders Electronics Daily

Larger local authority deals over £140,000 and central government contracts and tenders worth more than £93,000 can be found here. The database is updated five times a week with approximately 1500 public procurement notices from the European Union, the European Economic Area and beyond.

Funding Central

Website managed by the NCVO with details of grants, loans and contracts.

National Association for Voluntary and Community Associations (NAVCA)

NAVCA provide a good resource listing various websites where contracts can be found.

Know How Nonprofit

Provides a list of places where new contracting opportunities are advertised.

OGC Contracts Database

Online tool to find existing and upcoming public sector contracts.

PublicTenders.net

Online tool for finding public sector contracts.
